A historic post from my first trip over to Yellowstone and the Tetons


Yellowstone, here I come.

Flying tomorrow to start a three week photographic expedition through Yellowstone NP and The Grand Tetons.

The trip takes me across the Rockies, taking in Colorado, Montana and Wyoming and some of the most stunning scenery in the US

Hopefully, as well as the landscape there will be some wildlife encounters..Elk,Moose,Bison,Bears,Wolves, Eagles..

Weighing in at a shade under 12 kilos, my backpack for the next three weeks. 20 minutes after checking in at LHR I’m in Weatherspoons having a rest!

First stop is Denver. At one mile above sea level its a long way up from Barry Island. Jeez, the air is thin. Didnt realise what a problem dehydration would be at this altitude. I was wondering why everywhere you stop you get given a pint of water! The other notable thing..weed…everywhere. Marijuana is legal in Colorado.
