Up before dawn today to catch the sunrise over a very misty Madison River. Very atmospheric and made better by several fly fishermen after Cutthroat Trout.
It was well below freezing and the mist was rising of the river as it warmed. Spotted a bald eagle on the opposite bank along with a few elk.
Moving onto Tangle Creek, a small creek winding through a dead wood. Again misty and atmospheric. This lasted until we got red carded by the local Ranger for being off-piste. Apparently there is a Grizzly in the area. Good.
More thermal features after breakfast, the obligatory Old faithful Upper Geyser Basin, which is the largest in the world, and Biscuit Basin with its sapphire pool.
Last stop, a trip up the bluff behind Grand Prismatic for breathtaking panoramic views of the spring. This is THE place to view it.
