Puffins on Skomer Island

The Puffin is the best-known of the British auks – its colourful and slightly clown-like appearance making it immediately recognisable.

Puffins can be seen on Skomer Island in Wales between April and August, with July being the best time for seeing the birds with their beaks crammed for of sand eels as they return to their nests.
