Montrose to Durango

Late start as I slept through my alarm. Those NyQuil do the job!

Headed further south through Colorado today past the Ute reservation and into Ridgeway State Park. It is much colder today and there is snow on the mountain tops.

Headed up the Dallas Divide to see the fall colours but very interrupted by the weather. Heavy rain showers and very cold.

Headed up past the mining town of Ouray and over the snow covered San Juan Mountains to Silverton, a very western themed town to catch the steam train to Durango.

The train trip on a traditional steam train took three hours winding its way through the mountain passes and ravines to Durango.

All in an open carriage..it was freezing
