Early morning trip to Maroon Bell to capture the sunrise in the reflective lake postponed yesterday due to heavy rain.
Headed up past last aspen to Independence Pass to see the fall colours and take some streaky tree photos. Cold and wet.
Got to Maroon Bell at about midday and managed 5 minutes of photos before it started raining again. It was very misty with snow on the peaks but the reflection was still ok. Despite lots of warning notices still no bears.
Disappointed with the weather here as this is something of an iconic location in the US and made famous by Ansel Adams.
Afternoon was spent heading south through The White River NP to Montrose, with a couple of quick stops for the fall leaves.
